United Way of Greater New Haven helps families and individuals find and keep safe housing, and we get healthy food to the children, families, and neighbors who need it.

Food Access

United Way is working to make healthy food more readily available for our neighbors who need it. We all know from our own grocery bills that the price of food has gone up. That increase has put a real strain on families who were already barely making ends meet. Each year, we feed tens of thousands of children and adults through food distributions, pop-up pantries, summer meals for kids, serving prepared meals, and more.

Stable Housing

At United Way, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live in an affordable, safe, stable home. We are also working to connect more people to stable, affordable housing. Recent years have highlighted the fundamental imbalance we have between housing demand and housing supply. This has meant there is an even greater need for our work helping families and individuals who are facing a housing crisis.
