United Way of Greater New Haven would like to thank the volunteers from Yale New Haven Hospital's PFSA Department for donating their time and talent for their DAY OF CARING project which brought new life to the student courtyards at Edith E.Mackrille Elementary School in West Haven! Students and teachers will now have the opportunity to utilize these spaces to teach students about the importance of community gardening and simply just enjoy a beautiful safe outdoor courtyard with brand new picnic tables! Students even joined in the fun adding their handprints to the garden boxes and some fourth graders even got their hands dirty by helping muclhing and planting flowers. We would also like to thank Home Depot in North Haven and Walmart in West Haven for donating materials to make this possible! This is what it means to LIVE UNITED!
