Community Impact Cabinet

Role of the Commmunity Impact Cabinet

The role of the Community Impact Cabinet is to:

  • Advise the Board of Directors regarding investment policy.
  • Define priority areas for investment.
  • Deliberate and make recommendations on specific pools of funding.
  • Lead the United Way in achieving its community impact mission through investment.

To do this the Community Impact Cabinet:

  1. Defines a vision for each community priority area
  2. Defines areas of focus within each priority area needed to move this vision forward.
  3. Recommends investment strategies in each priority area.
  4. Monitors and adjusts these recommendations as new opportunities and knowledge emerge.
  5. Recommends desired measurable results for each investment and monitors the achievement of these outcomes.
  6. Monitors the work of volunteer teams reviewing and recommending investments. Reviews these recommendations based on priority area visions and emphasis, desired United Way outcomes.
  7. As a result of this work, make investment recommendations to the United Way of Greater New Haven Board of Directors.
