United Way Community Investment Review Teams

Community Investment Review Teams
The United Way Community Investment Review Teams are groups charged by the Community Impact Cabinet (CIC) with guiding and aligning United Way ’s resource development, community investment and civic engagement activities as we work toward our desired outcomes. They lead the work of identifying and recommending the appropriate mix of direct service and community change investments and activities for United Way .
The teams 2007-2008 Investment Review Teams reviewed funding in the following areas:

As part of their job they:

  • Identified the best opportunities to invest resources in the community to achieve the outcome goals in United Way ’s priority areas. (Resources are broadly defined to include funding, as well as leadership, influence, expertise, and staff and volunteer time.)
  • Identified resource development strategies for achieving the outcome goals, including annual fundraising, grants, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, civic engagement and other in-kind support and leadership.
  • Identified opportunities to align community investment, resource development and civic engagement activities for the greatest community impact.
  • Made specific investment recommendations to the Community Impact Cabinet.
  • Recommend measurement practices and monitor progress over time toward outcome goals.
  • Monitored use of community investment resources and movement toward annual targets.
  • Gathered and shared expertise and knowledge about community assets and needs.
  • Represented United Way and its Community Impact agenda for the region.
