United Way Days of Caring: October 3-9, 2009
Continuing to Advance the Common Good
United Way Days of Caring is an annual, week-long series of events where thousands of volunteers join hands and lend their muscle to improve local nonprofits, schools, towns and parks. Days of Caring projects range from reading to children to beautifying a play yard. Volunteer groups from workplaces, families, schools, and community and faith groups make it happen.
United Way's Days of Caring 2009 was a tremendous success and it couldn't have been done without you!
Your commitment to creating a lasting change in Greater New Haven is truly inspirational. Wonderful volunteer projects and improvements to local non-profits took place all over the city, while volunteers generously gave their time and talent to improve our community. This year we connected hundreds of volunteers with meaningful opportunities in the Greater New Haven area, and saved non-profits thousands of dollars that would have otherwise been spent on improvements.

United Way works to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.
