Tell us a little about how you Live United by giving, advocating and volunteering in the community.

Vickey returned to her home state of Connecticut after studying Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Richmond in Virginia. After working as a temp, a Census 2010 Crew Leader, and intern in the New Haven Mayor's Office at the Prison Reentry Initiative, she found herself as an AmeriCorps VISTA member working on the United Way's Boost! Initiative.

As a Service Corps member of the Boost! Initiative, Vickey is coordinating wraparound services at Barnard Environmental Studies Magnet School for the 2011-2012 school year. Wraparound services focus on creating an environment in which students can succeed in the classroom.
