We are working hard to keep pace with the steady number of homeowners who come to us for foreclosure prevention services. It’s a scary process that can be lengthy, often taking more than a year to resolve; stressful, when confronted with the possibility of having your family’s home taken away; and exhausting, in the continual need to respond to repeated requests from the lender for verification of financial information.
The program provides foreclosure counseling and mitigation services to low- to moderate-income greater New Haven homeowners affected by the subprime lending crisis, under-employment, loss of income, and other financial stressors. The program anticipates serving 120 families.
