Covidien Employees Share Their Talent in the Kitchen

The Covidien Communications department hosted a Pie Tasting event in New Haven.  The team baked pies, and employees bought tickets to sample the pies and vote for their favorite. Many employees enjoyed the opportunity to savor the tasty treats and contribute to the United Way at the same time.

United Way Celebrates Campaign Volunteers and Leadership

On June 22nd, the community celebrated the success of the 2009-10 campaign. We took the opportunity to thank all our campaign volunteers. The event also recognised the leadership of Diane Turner, 2009-10 Campaign Chair, and Yale University's commitment to our community with special guest, Yale President Richard Levin. The event was well attended with over 170, volunteers, buisness leaders and partners in the room.

“The University is pleased to support the United Way and its many good works. I want to especially thank Diane Turner and our more than 100 ‘United Way Champions’ on the University staff who lead the United Way campaign at Yale each year.”

- Richard Levin, Yale University President

Dine, Dance, and Donate was a Great Success!

United Way of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven would like to thank all who supported and attended  Neighbor-to-Neighbor LifeLine's 1st Annual Gala: Dine, Dance and Donate. Special thanks to Betty Ann and John Donegan for donating their time and generosity by hosting the patron pre-party at their home with a delectable tasting by Betty Ann.  The event not only celebrated The Community Dining Room's 25th Anniversary but also raised critical funds, and increased awareness of hunger and homelesness on the Shoreline.
