Smart About Money

United Way of Greater New Haven is dedicated to increasing the number of financially stable working families and individuals in our region.

That's why we are proud to join with our partners to offer SAM, a new service in Greater New Haven to help make households smarter and ready for success.

SAM is a free program offered by United Way of Greater New Haven in partnership with Annie E. Casey Foundation that assists low- and middle-income residents to budget their money and connects them to services to build or improve their credit, get out of debt and save for the future. SAM gives participants the tools and support they need to take control of their finances and put their household on the road to financial stability.

Your Support Helps:

  • Build financial stability for low- to middle-income families in our community
  • Complement existing financial education programs by providing follow-up, personalized one-on-one coaching for households in need
  • Increase learning opportunities for individuals and families in our region

  • Match volunteer budget coaches with households who want help reaching their financial goals
