SAM Volunteer Criteria

Individuals interested in volunteering as a Budget Coach are required to complete a volunteer application to determine if SAM is a good fit. Ideal budget coaches should have:

• a desire to help make a difference in a family’s life and be open to working with new people in new ways
• A willingness to commit to working with a household for four months
• Ability to attend two required three hour trainings
• Willingness and capacity to complete and submit updates on session progress
  • SAM volunteers do NOT need to be financial professionals
