Yale-New Haven Hospital Collects 11,000 School Supplies for Hillhouse High School For Days of Caring

On September 21st Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) delivered 11,000 school supplies to Hillhouse High School for United Way's Days of Caring. Days of Caring is an annual two-day event where hundreds of volunteers are recruited across the community to participate in various hands-on projects or drives that help community organizations and schools.

Hillhouse High School gave YNHH and United Way of Greater New Haven (UWGNH) a warm welcome with their marching band as their junior ROTC escorted YNHH CEO, Marna Borgstrom, Superintendent of Schools, Reggie Mayo, UWNGH CEO, Jack Healy and the YNHH School supply drive committee (listed below). The enthusiasm and warmth was energizing and the level of talent and spirit from the students was palpable.

YNHH has been hosting the school supply drive for several years and has enabled several students to participate in their education with confidence.

This year, YNHH has donated school supplies to: Hillhouse High School  in New Haven and Washington Elementary School in West Haven. The success of this drive would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the YNHH school supply drive committee: Ann Hogan, Myra Stanley, Ann Amaturo and Sonia Rodriguez.

Special thanks to you!
