Wexler-Grant Community School had its first Report Card/Family Night of the 2011-2012 school year on Monday. Families were treated to an amazing event that included karaoke, food from local restaurant The Greek Olive, a movie, free books, read aloud, and a craft activity. Teachers spent weeks organizing the free books and creating a fun craft activity for the younger members of the families to partake in. Community partners were also in attendance to showcase to the families all of the services that they have been bringing into the Wexler-Grant community and how they have been serving the students. These partners included LEAP, Collective Consciousness Theatre, Post Traumatic Stress Center, Higher Heights, and many more. Hundreds of people were in attendance, and the night was a spectacular success! Teachers said they hadn't seen this many families come before, and were excited with the potential of even more families coming to the next event because they wouldn't want to miss such a fun night. Many thanks to the teachers and staff who made this night a success for everyone!
