USIS organizes the library at r'kids!!

As part of a nationwide 2011 Community Day, USIS (United States Investigational Services), conducted a volunteer project at r'kids, organizing and cleaning the library. r'kids FamilyCenter in New Haven is a licensed child placement agency through the Department of Children and Families and is certified through Applied Behavioral Health for a variety of child welfare related services.

This year about 22 volunteer projects were conducted across the country at various agencies and non-profits by USIS employees. Here in New Haven, led by Mary Ellen Armaos and about 4 volunteers from all over the state, participated on a Saturday morning, to dedicate their time help make the library at r'kids easier to use for the staff and the families they serve. Training materials, historical information, children’s books and AV materials were organized in a way that will allow for easier access for the children and staff can find the resources they need quickly. It is small projects like this when conducted all over the country that truly make a profound impact on communities.

Congratulations to USIS on a job well done! United Way of Greater New Haven and the staff at r'kids with to thank you for the difference you have made in the community. LIVE UNITED!!
