Touch-a-Truck Success (2010 Photos)

Saturday, October 30th marked the third annual Touch -a -Truck event for United Way of Greater New Haven and the Town of Branford at Branford High School. Touch- a -Truck provides the opportunity for children to get close to their favorite full-sized vehicles in a protected environment. 35 vehicles were collected from various municipal offices, including the Fire, Police and Public Works Departments, as well as vehicles from local companies such as: Cherry Hill Construction, All American Waste, United Tire, ServePro, 1-800GotJunk, Massey Glass, Gill Simons and the channel 8 weather van,. and more.

The day was  terrific and guests took advantage of the free  hotdogs and hamburgers grilled and served by the Branford Rotary. As well as toys and literature from local social service agencies. Entrance to Touch-a-Truck was free with a donation of diapers to be ditributed to low-income families and individuals on the Shoreline. This year we collected close to 10,000 diapers and baby accesories!  A big thank you to all of the families and businesses that came out to support our event! See you next year!

Touch-a-Truck 2010 was made possible by Alcoa Howmet and Guilford Savings Bank. Thank you!
