The students of Metropolitan are engaged in so many different projects throughout the year, and though we are anticipating a full showcase, we know that it is only a tiny representation of the amazing work that our students do every day.
Some things to look forward to include student CCC CT Innovation Expo projects including: "Localize It", a mobile app that locates local farmers markets; "CuttleSmarts", a line of products that change color based on temperature; and "ECO-Marsh", a man-made bioremediating floating marsh used to clean up an oil spill, to name a few.
Come meet our students! Come see our school! You won't be disappointed.
Ninth graders from different sections of the Business Writing course will be presenting proposals the created for after school, weekend, or summer programs for kids or teens. Members of the audience will pretend to be the New Haven Board of Education, and they will view the presentations and decide which proposal should be implemented. Students have been working to create a written proposal, a PowerPoint, a commercial to advertise their program, applications for the program, and a job wanted ad. This is a culminating project requiring students to use multiple skills they learned throughout the school year. Please join us and vote for your favorite proposal!
