Beulah Heights Celebrates Academic Excellence

Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church has been a long-time supporter Wexler-Grant Community School and is an important presence in the community. They provide services to the community through their Social Integration Programs that include their Winter Cafe series. On January 12th, they honored the students at Wexler-Grant who had made Honor Roll during the first marking period with an event called "A Night of Sharing with the Children." Inviting not only the 34 students, but their families and teachers as well, the evening included a spaghetti dinner and presentation of certificates to the honorees. Students were then given new backpacks stuffed with school supplies including a calculator, notebooks, pens, and pencils. Many thanks to the Beulah Heights staff and parishoners for making this night possible!

This is a great example of how community groups and institutions can show their support for children's academic achievement. We all have a role to play in helping students live up to their potential.

This looks like a wonderful event, I am sorry I was unable to attend this celebration of our students. Many thanks to Beulah Heights for their outreach and support. Wexler Grant has wonderful kids and families. Congratulations to all of our students making honor roll.
