22 Chili Recipes, 4 Judges, 1 Winner, and $2,415 Raised for United Way.

Yale University’s second annual “Chili Throwdown” raised over $2,400, more than twice the amount raised last year.  Proceeds for the event that took place Friday, November 5, 2010, went to United Way.  Chili was made by Yale staff members and students across campus, and with a minimum $5 donation at the door, guests could sample as many chili entries as they wished. While the panel of judges only chose the top three varieties, guests were given poker chips to vote for their top five favorites. Winners include: First Place - Aldo Gargamelli, chef at Berkeley College; People’s Choice Award – Chris Carbone, Yale Catering; and $2,415 in proceeds - United Way of Greater New Haven.
