Two years ago, Tonya was living in South Carolina with her two children and homeless. At 31, she struggled to make ends meet and as times got harder she surrendered and gave up. In July of 2007, Tonya returned home to New Haven. She was determined to find a place of her own and get her life re-started, although due to financial issues she was unable to obtain a living space for her and her two children.
