What is HUSKY Primary Care?
A program for HUSKY A members that lets you enroll with your Primary Care Provider (PCP) directly. You and your PCP, not an HMO, will make decisions about your care. PCPs who are not currently enrolled in HUSKY Primary Care can sign up at any time.
Why should I switch from my HMO to HUSKY Primary Care?
PCPs in HUSKY Primary Care provide care coordination to help you get appointments with specialists, follow up on your medical conditions, and refer you to community resources and services you need. There is a special person at your doctor’s office to call for help.
Are there any restrictions that I need to know about?
You can sign up for Husky Primary if you live in, or your doctor’s office is in, one of the following towns:
Bloomfield, Chaplin, Cheshire, Columbia, Coventry, East Hartford, East Haven, Franklin, Hamden, Hartford, Lebanon, Mansfield, Middlebury, Naugatuck, New Haven, Newington, North Haven, Orange, Plymouth, Prospect, Scotland, South Windsor, Sprague, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, West Hartford, West Haven, Wethersfield, Willimantic, Windham, Windsor, Wolcott, or Woodbridge.
