Payroll Deduction

Most people contribute to United Way through payroll deduction. Payroll deduction makes giving easy. Using a pledge website or a paper form, you tell us how much you’d like to give. Your employer then sets aside a portion of your earnings from each pay period.

Where the Money Goes

Your United Way contribution goes to work creating lasting changes right where you live. Local volunteers invest your contribution in the areas of education, income and health.

Some of the funds support programs and services that help people with basic needs, such as childcare, emergency shelter and free health clinics. Volunteers direct your contributions to the programs that get the best results.

United Way also works to keep people from needing those services in the first place. Working with a broad range of community partners, United Way supports new approaches that focus on prevention and community changes. 

Can I Decide How My Contribution is Spent?

You sure can. Direct your contribution to the action area that matters most to you.

Do you want to help children and youth achieve their potential?  Choose Education.

Do you want to promote financial stability and independence for hard-working familes?  Choose Income.

Do you want to improve people’s health? Choose Health.

Do you care about all three (Education, Income and Health)? Choose the United Way Community Fund. We also allow designations to any 501 (c) 3 organization.
