Why Give To United Way

A contribution to United Way improves lives and builds stronger communities.

United Way, together with many community partners, works to reduce economic and education disparity through investments focused on our region’s greatest needs: jobs and housing; children and youth; health and civic engagement; emergency food and shelter; and disaster preparedness and response.

A contribution to United Way’s Community Fund or to one of United Way’s community priority areas (Education, Income, and Health) is powerful because it is combined with contributions by thousands of other donors. Contributions made directly to United Way are invested by volunteers in local programs that are effective not only in addressing the immediate needs of this region but also in getting to the root causes of our greatest challenges and, therefore, advancing the common good for all who live and work in the region.
