Women's Initiative

The Women’s Initiative provides a meaningful opportunity to share your vision, expertise and resources to improve the lives of children and families by addressing the most critical needs in Greater New Haven.  We are a diverse group of talented women who not only want to see positive change, but who want to help create it and lead the way in transforming our community.

Our role in United Way is to unite, engage and support local women leaders to facilitate impact as we pool our resources, energy and hearts to make a difference. Our goal is to bring down barriers to helping us help others in our community.

What does it take to join the Women’s Initiative?

It first takes a desire to lead the way and make a difference in your own community. All members will be connected to the community through a diverse array of volunteer projects, personal and professional development opportunities and social and networking events throughout the year.  In addition, we ask each member join with a financial contribution.
