Last month, Courtyard Marriott in Orange, Connecticut conducted their 2nd Annual Book Drive to benefit Read to Grow in Branford. Read to Grow is a non-profit organization that promotes early literacy for all Connecticut children. They are the only statewide organization that provides free books for children of all ages and helps parents take an active role in their child's literacy development beginning at birth.
The drive, led by Marriott's sales team of Kristin Frederick and Cristina Ashway, collected over 100 books. Donations were collected by employees, as well as by guests of the hotel. The books ranged from “Harry Potter” to classics like the “Giving Tree,” so that children of all ages and reading levels will be able to benefit from this book drive. The Courtyard Marriott has shown leadership in their community and demonstrates how easy it is to make a huge impact in a family’s life. On behalf of United Way and Read to Grow, we thank you for your efforts and applaud your commitment. LIVE UNITED!
