This summer Boost! and the New Haven Public Schools will be conducting a Kindergarten outreach campaign.  Groups of volunteers will be visiting the homes of all incoming kindergarten families to answer questions and to provide information to help make sure their child will be successful in school.  As part of this effort, our goal is to hand-deliver a paperback book to each family. 

The following is a list of authors recommended by New Haven Public Schools as appropriate summer reading for incoming Kindergarten students.   Research shows that children who are read to during the first year of school are twice as likely to be successful in high school.  We appreciate your contribution of new books to help New Haven schoolchildren develop a love of reading and a foundation for school success.
