United Way Celebrates Campaign Volunteers and Leadership

On June 22nd, the community celebrated the success of the 2009-10 campaign. We took the opportunity to thank all our campaign volunteers. The event also recognised the leadership of Diane Turner, 2009-10 Campaign Chair, and Yale University's commitment to our community with special guest, Yale President Richard Levin. The event was well attended with over 170, volunteers, buisness leaders and partners in the room.

“The University is pleased to support the United Way and its many good works. I want to especially thank Diane Turner and our more than 100 ‘United Way Champions’ on the University staff who lead the United Way campaign at Yale each year.”

- Richard Levin, Yale University President

Photos From Touch-A-Truck

Touch-A-Truck provided the opportunity for children to get close to their favorite full-sized vehicles in a protected environment. Vehicles from various municipal offices, including the Fire, Police, Parks and Public Works departments, as well as vehicles from local companies attended. The price of admission was disposable diapers that are being collected for United Way’s Healthy Baby Diaper Drive and will be distributed free to local families in need through Shoreline nonprofit agencies and The Diaper Bank.
