211 Services 72,224 Requests in One Year

2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember number that connects people who want to give help or get help with a full range of health and human services in their community. Between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011, United Way 2-1-1, handled more than 421,000 calls statewide and saw more than 755,000 searches on www.211ct.org. In the Greater New Haven area the top request was for assitance with housing and shelter issues (8,602 Requests) followed by utillity/heat, information services, and financial assistance. The majority of requests came from New Haven (44,991 requests) followed by West Haven (10.417) and Hamden (6,962). In general towns with larger populations made more reqests per person then towns with smaller popluations. (see charts)

A program for HUSKY A members that lets you enroll with your Primary Care Provider (PCP) directly. You and your PCP, not an HMO, will make decisions about your care. PCPs who are not currently enrolled in HUSKY Primary Care can sign up at any time.

211 is a phone and online database that is a single source for information about community services, referrals to human services, and crisis intervention. This database can be searched to find agencies and programs capable of providing assistance. The toll free number 211 is can also be accessed from anywhere in Connecticut by simply dialing 2-1-1. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
