JR: Would you like to introduce yourself?

Tom Ficklin: Yes, my name is Tom Ficklin president of Ficklin Media

JR: Can you tell me about what you do in the community Tom? And particularly if it involves education

Tom Ficklin: It doesn’t involve education but it also pertains to how whether you’re a business or corporation or just an individual can help you better educate society, your family, your clients, it’s a broad kind of definition of education realizing that education is really a 24/7 endeavor.

JR: What are your aspirations or hopes for the community

Tom Ficklin: My hopes for the community are really kind of selfish in that I'm really passionate about media and self discovery and I think through media and self discovery / education the whole universe in addition to just the local community, the actual world can become a better place

JR: We are here at the Harwood Institute innovation lab and I'm curious having participated in it, if you came out of it with any awakened awareness or any learning or you saw people picking anything up that you thought would be interesting to share

Tom Ficklin: Absolutely everyday is a revelation this kind of catalytic experience helps you to further pursue your own sense of self discovery, I know you’ve heard people say it before but we really have to realize that every day is a new day so the interaction among the people here in attendance, the presenter, the new haven community coming together and all of its warts as well as all of its beauty, that’s a true learning experience in itself.
