Mission and Vision

Vision

United Way of Greater New Haven envisions a diverse and vibrant region in which people are connected to one another and to opportunities for continuous learning and economic well-being.

Mission

United Way brings together the caring power of people to create change in our region and to improve lives. We provide leadership by:

Working with other community leaders and citizens to identify our greatest needs and best opportunities for change;

  1. Generating and investing financial and other resources for measurable community results; and
  2. Championing volunteerism and civic engagement.

 UWGNH’s community investments, leadership and resource development efforts are focused on two critical and inter-related issues facing our region: EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC DISPARITY

These priorities were identified through Community Compass, a collaborative effort of over thirty organizations to identify our region’s greatest challenges and best opportunities for change, and were determined through both data analysis and interviews with citizens, community leaders and civic groups.
